Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • large bowl
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Jimmy Dean sausage
  • 1 6oz box StoveTop stuffing (chicken or turkey)
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • In a medium sauce pan, bring one cup of water to a boil and then add the contents of the stuffing. Mix well, remove from heat, and set aside to cool.
  • In a large bowl, mix the uncooked sausage with the stuffing and cheddar cheese until thoroughly combined.
  • Roll the mixture into small 1 inch bite-size balls. Pack them tightly so that they hold together when baked.
  • Place them in the fridge for least an hour or overnight until you're ready to bake and serve.
  • Place the chilled sausage balls onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake in a 350° F oven for approximately 25 minutes or until cooked through.
  • Allow them to cool for a few minutes and serve! They keep well on the counter for hours.

Notes

These are insanely delicious served alone, but you could also serve them with a cranberry dipping sauce. The size of your sausage balls will make a big difference in how long they need to be baked to get the sausage cooked all the way through, so be sure to check for doneness.
